Replacing my bellows/gimbal etc.. (first time) just a quick question make sure I have this right.

Shift cable thru the bellhousing there was no gasket.. or ring or washer of any kind:



I assume there should be something to keep the water back.. is it
#12 in the breakdown??

Secondly, anyone ever measure this distance.. just wanna make sure it`s in there correctly




and if anyone could point me in the direction of a service manual that would be a big help..

just measured my bellows it is 2" also

mercruiser manuel calls it a seal washer

Just look for the one you need and download it. I have several of them I keep on a memory stick. The actual merc manuals are verey expensive.
