Part number 35 my man, depending on which transmission you have (Merctrans or Borg Warner).

Need to know what tranny you have to know what one you need. They are different depending on if it is a Merc Trans or a Borge Warner.

Borg-Warner has the splines on the outside of the shaft, externally. Merc Trans has the splines internally and a spring on the end. Here's another place where you can get them, a little cheaper.

If you need a Borg Warner input shaft I might have one laying around in my garage.

Just checked, it is for a Merc trans. I had it removed from the new upper that I bought cause I needed the Borg Warner.

Ya a '86 would be a B-W if it's the original set up. One good thing the B-W shaft is 100 bucks cheaper than the Merc Trans one new.
