I need to understand the rotation of the ASD-6 drives. I have two ASD- 1721 with gears is this what is used as a standard rotation or a counter rotation? I know it counter acts the standard rotation of the motor. This meaning a standard motor turns counter clock wise and the gears redirect the rotation to clock wise so on a triple engine setup would I use one gear drive unit and two chain driven units? So do all props will turn in for best performance?

I think on a tripple it does not matter if the center is LH or RH ?!
I bet Rik can answer all your questions !!!!!

While there might be more than one way to skin a cat so to speak, I would put the Starboard propeller as a LH rotation, the Port propeller as a RH rotation and the center engine as a RH rotation.
Looking at photos of the Lambo boat as well as the 50' that was at the Miami boat show this year, that's how they were set up.
Hey Jim!!

I got an old 1721 ccw gear drive.. I read some where the ccw can be up to 15% more efficient but have more cw props. may want to make it a chain... do you sell parts to swap the gear to chain drive if I want to go cw...
thanks Larry

The drive itself has no limitations as to RH or LH rotation so it can be made to rotate either direction by the parts inside. I have the parts to do either rotation in different ratios.

Larry, you come up with some weird **** sometimes. Rotation cannot make efficiency. LH or RH rotation. A single engine boat will, most cases, run better with a RH rotation propeller as it counters the torque (to a degree) of a LH rotation engine.

I didn't think the drop box was able to be changed from ccw to cw..
but I am glad it can be done...
sorry my bad
I was reading about duo props or Contra rotating not counter rotating props my bad..
Contra-rotating propellers have been found to be between 6% and 16% more efficient than normal propellers. "
