cracked casing 330 trs

i have a 1983 34' scarab and the drive casings are cracked right by the props 6 inches and was wondering how to check to see if the gears are ruined and or if i can do a quick fix so i can run for a year and save for new ones i am very new to this hobbie please email me at [email protected]

how can you tell if theres water in there and hts 2000 is whats im putting in the cracks and how can u tell if your gears are shot

If their that bad than their probably going through the threaded area where the carrier retainer screws in. If that retainer comes out you could end up loosing your prop,propshaft,carrier,and drive gear. That's over a thousand bucks in parts. The cracks only going to get worst. I think I would start looking for replacements.

I welded mine up and ran them for a year. I just kept a real good eye on them after they got welded. You need a REAL good welder to do this because they have to know how to mix the gas for the corrosion that is in the alluminum. I did not grind mine as I wanted to keep as much strenght as possible. It took two tries but they did get it to hold.
