Took my boat out for the first time today. After running for a while I stopped to talk with someone. When I went to put the drive in forward nothing happened. Back to neutral then forward nothing, back to reverse ok then back to forward and it goes in gear. Ran the boat back to the marina and pulled it out. Got it home and pulled off the back cover and see some shavings in the back cover, not good. The drive is a Bravo 1 behind a 24 HTM making about 650 hp. When I bought the boat the owner told me the original drive lasted only a couple hours after he put on the supercharger. He had the drive rebuilt with some stronger components inside. The rebuilt drive has about 175 hrs on it now when it failed. I live in Western New York and Im looking for someone to rebuild this drive, but I would like to make sure it is upgraded with stronger than stock components. Thought of going to an XR but if I could get another 175 hrs out of a rebuild I would be happy. Who is the bravo expert?

Call "Articfriends"/Steve Smith aka "Smitty" somewhere near Bay City, Michigan....or Mr. Gadgets/Dick of Dick's Performance Marine in Saugatuck/Holland, Michigan area.
Both are excellent Bravo drive rebuilders---and have excellent reputations.
