looking for mercury part number 54168 my marina said they discontinued this seal in the trs drive.. anybody know were i could order one?

That part number is actually for the valve guide, a part of the coupler. It is on the drive and fits into the seal which is part #26-48443 and is in the bell housing. That seal is still available.
Here is the diagram and where you can get one. Part #2 in the diagram.

theres a coupler on the drive that goes into a seal looks like its pressed in. is that it?

bam said not available from mercury. in there description they said it was a valve guide

Do you need the coupler (valve guide) which is 54168 or do you need the seal which is 26-48443. You stated in your first post that they discontinued this seal. The seal is availiable.

Picle's links are not working today. Is this the seal that goes into the bell housing that always gets bent when the drive goes on? If so then I just remove them and use silicone around the gasket. Never had a problem doing that. Just go light on the silicone so that it does not go into your drive oil.
