Have an 87 251-Convincor with a right hand TRS / Velvet Drive transmission.

The drive it's self is currently being re-finished, and I am curious if I am able to run my engine without the drive on the boat ???

Yes you can run it without the drive. Though the TRS does not pick up water through the drive be sure to hook a water supply up somehow .
