We just got our new boat and it has the Latham steering and Drive Shower on an X Drive lower unit. Our old boat had the Simrek Halo Shower and it worked FANTASTIC, even in the toughest water conditions. But now with the Latham Steering I cannot us the Simrek so it came with the Latham Shower. The problem I am having is the water from the shower is only going to the forward and aft of the drive due to the vertical cooling fins. The sides are now getting all coked up and I am not happy with it. The only thing I can think of is to replace the drive cap (if that is what it is called) with something that does not have any cooling fins that would allow water to cool the entire shower.

Does anyone have suggestions or ideas? I would be thankful of any help.

Truly I cannot be the only person that has noticed this or that has this problem.
