XR help neded

My Bravo XR started performing strangely today. One time when slowing down for a no-wake zone the drive seemed to "slip" as the boat leveled off and as I applied the throttle it grabbed and the boat lurched forward. Another time when accelerating from a stop the boat planed normally then the drive seemed to "slip" again and the engine reved up as the speed stayed constant. After a brief period everything returned to normal. It was as if the prop was ventilating, but I know there are no issue with the prop. When I put the boat on the trailer I put the outdrive in forward. I can spin the prop freely to the right which I believe is normal. I can also spin the prop counterclockwise if I pull hard enough. Sometimes it wont turn much, however, if you turn it clockwise a little, I can turn it counterclockwise roughly 3/4 of a turn of the prop?????

XR kelp

Thanks. I checked the prop shaft while turning by hand. The shaft and the prop turn together. The XR drive has the removable hub in the prop. It appears to be in good condition.
