Default One more Bravo shifting question

I removed my drives to install new engines. Last night I put the drives back on, and the right drive doesn't want to shift into forward. It goes into reverse just fine, and locks the prop shaft, but when you shift it into forward, the shaft just spins freely in either direction. There is unusual resistance on the shift lever when moving it into forward.
The left drive seems to shift properly. I put them on the same way, but I am not all that familiar with bravo's. Did I screw something up ????
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Is the motor running when you are trying this ?

you may want to pull the drive off a few inches and look to make sure the cable is hooked up into the linkage properly.

You are not supposed to shift a Bravo drive when the engine is not running. It can be done, but should be avoided.

Oh !!!
I will start the engine and try again.
This is the first set of big block / bravo's for me. Previously only owned Alpha / small block combo's.
Thanks for the info.
