I will look into it. Possibly make a near net forged straight cut upper gear, just as Mercury did on the later #5's and the #3A's.

Seriously though, SCX is the ticket. Gimble ring and helmet change required. Upper with these parts is going to be anywhere from $9k to $10k depending on what kind of deal you can get. You can get a used SC lower for less than $3k if you look around. Then you dont need to worry about setup, because it really wont change from what you have now. Except it will be indestructible.
