Rebuilding Transmissions....where to start?

Any recommendations on where to look to read up on rebuilding marine transmissions?

Have a current need for a TRS transmission (BW?) but would also like to read up on popular models for the #6 also. Just getting started so curious whats been helpful - certain merc manuals, etc.

Mercruiser Manual #2 has complete instructions on rebuilding a Merc Trans ll which was used with the TRS as well as the BW.
