I have done two conversions for customer's. One was a 39 Midnight Express and the other a 35 LIghtning. There is a template that bolts directly to the Bravo set up and is easily traced out and to be cut including the drill holes. The midnight had 575's with bravos. The 35 Lightning had the 525's. Both converted to the 700 Packs with the lightning requiring the 6 drive instead of the NXT. Time consuming project but well worth it after blowing XR's up.

Without getting out my protractor, I sure don't think I'd want to move the engines back even a 1/4 inch if I were hanging more weight off the transom compared to a Bravo/ITS setup.

Yes it was staggered.

The alternative is Arnesons...

Could you not use some type of spacer to avoid moving the engine back?

If you don't want to move the engines back, you should be able to run a driveline setup with a short shaft. The NXT transmission is shorter than a BW, so it should just be a matter of building the correct length driveshaft to go to the NXT remote tailstock, which I imagine would be pretty far inside the NXT transom housing/extension box.

Somebody with hands-on rigging experience doing NXT drivelines can help you out.

So what is the NXT pricing compared to SCXs?

Sydwayz 12-15-2010 07:01 AM

What about those X-drives with the adjustable X-dimension? Are they still around?

Tom, you could always put a Pulse Drive on there. :D :D

... and I still have a set of Pulse Drive props I would be willing to let go of CHEAP to sweeten the deal! :D:D

Did you have to rasie your engines when you went back? As you can see from my avatar; not much room for movement!

I raised the engines/x dim 1 inch higher than the formula factory boats. I am 97.5, a few mph faster than factory. No problems with blowout.
