Default 72c to a 9 or 10 disc trans

Anyone had a Borg Warner 72C transmission modified to a 9 or 10 disc transmsision for a TRS by BAM or Huber? Costs? Thanks.

I have a pair of cores that I shopped around. Lowest quotes were around $2000 per transmission. I ended up buying a pair of Huber 1450's in another deal.

However, for a previous boat, I bought a freshly rebuilt 72C (with no core) from Mike at Harbor Marine in Everett, WA for $1400. I ran it behind a 600 hp BBC for four years without issue, until I sold the boat. I imagine this is the around the power level you are talking about if you are going TRS, so you might give some local guys a try and save some $$.

I am having a pair of 72c trannies rebuilt and called Huber. He seems to be the man on these units, vast knowledge, nice guy. He has a 10 disc upgrade rated to 1330 ft/lbs. Call Earl at Huber 225-927-6895, I'll let him give you the price, don't want to be his online ad campaign here.

Best place for rebuild kits with quality clutches, etc? Have one that was updated to 10 disc and another I believe is stock. Would like to go thru 'em both.

Rebuilds are only as good as the labor AND parts that go into them...figure I might as well get one thing right
