Difference between a Bravo 1 and an HP transom assembly is ?
I've been reading all the previous threads i could find and it seems every thread staets something different EXCEPT all agree on diff hinge pins. I was under impression that the HP assembly had stainless pins n the std did NOT, and also the the overall gimbal itself was a beefier piece.
WHAT are the real diffs??? Now you can order an HP assembly wither with out without trim senders also. Below are the part numbers w and w/o trim senders and the list and sell prices.
6-6511002NZ TRANSOM ASSEMBLY, Hi Performance Without Sender $3,456.17 $2,976.80 1
- 6-6511102NZ TRANSOM ASSEMBLY, Hi Performance With Sender $3,456.17 $2,976.80 1

One of the differances that you can see is where the holes for the trim ram pins are located.* The HP ring is solid and standard ring is webbed. Not sure about senders, all HP rings I have seen have the stainless hinge pins with no senders. But that doesn't mean they don't make them.

The standard bell has the hinge pins screwed into the bell and the gimbal rotates on the pins. The HP setup has larger pins that bolt to the gimbal and rotate on the bell. That is the main difference.
I think they offer an electronic sender with the new HP, but havent seen one to know for sure. I am sure one of the Merc dealers can answer that part.
I was told back in 95 (alot of years ago, so it may not hold true now) that the HP gimbal was cast with a different technique making it stronger. They look the same, well back then. There is a kit to swap a standard to a HP from Merc.
If you want to do it right, use the Imco kit.. it is much beefier than the Merc...
Where's the Beef??
