bravo1 drive noise

bravo1 drive noise
I have a bravo1 with 226 hours on it. No metal on drain plug. Drive makes a roaring noise when in the water at idle & when I put it in gear. I cannot hear the noise when running on a hose. The noise gets louder when the drive is turned to full lock. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
