Default Nose Cone

Was thinking about putting a nose cone on my drive. Just wondering what effect they have, do they work on a drive with the low water pickup? I have a 99 26ZX with a 540 running 5psi making roughly 750HP. Is this going to hurt me or is it going to help me?

It can help you a couple MPH. Some complain handling changes. I had one on my cat and liked it. And you can cut it out for low water pick up.

It will help, but if you run in a severely trimmed up position to
get your best top speed, It might cause handling issues....

When my 272 had my 950hp set up my boat ran 92ish light and 89 and change w/full tank of gas and 4 heavy passengers with my drive that had a well blended hydromotive nose cone. When I had to run my spare drive with no nose cone boat would only run 84-87 mph depending on the load so at the 85-90 mph range I think it makes a big difference, Smitty

I put a Hydramotive on my B1 on a Velocity 280 and I love it. It improved high speed handling dramatically even with lots of trim. I'm running mid 80's depending on prop. I can't say that I picked up any speed, I was doing too many things at once. But the handling improvement is certainly worth it.
