Default Strange B1 shift issue

After a long run in forward (about 1hr 10min) at 4000 rpm or above my friends Bravo 1 will not engage reverse after we have slowed to idle. The shifter will move easily to the reverse position but nothing at the drive. If you turn the boat off and just sit for a few minutes then start up reverse works again.

Any ideas???

i would start by spinning your barrel nut up on the lower cable (just a few turns) to see if it wasnt an issue with "almost" being engaged when hot the actually "being" engaged when cooled off. Turns out, Bravos run very hot so i would guess that the expansion/contraction of metal may come into play.

Or, i may be completely wrong.

Thank you for the advice, sorry I should have mentioned that we have tried that but moved the barrel only one turn. Not sure if we went far enough.
