Sportmaster stainless cavitation plate breaking?
#1
I found the thread that said the old style alum breaks. My buddy has a 42Tiger 575sc with the bravo sport masters bravo30lab.It labors real bad getting on plane!! Its breaking/cracking in half the cav plates.I havent seen it in person.but he said this is the 2nd time its done it,theres no damage to the prop and he said he didnt hit anything.Have you all heard of this being a prob with this foot?
I guessing its probably breaking in the countersunk bolt hole, stress riser making it break???
Thanks
Rob

I had a sportmaster stainless cav plate break, port drive outboard corner on my Adrenaline V30. Didn't hit anything, aft vertical bolt was gone and no damage to prop. Starboard bolt was loose, suggest occasionally checking the torques as I think the countersunk head sheared off after vibrating and the bolt went up and out.
