When cold, works perfect, when hot, reverse perfect. FOrward....wait 5-10 seconds and goes in. If I rev it up just a bit, clunks into gear. (not sure how the RPM has an effect on it)
Just started this weekend, so have not had a chance to adjust the cables. (and don't want to before I hear some suggestions, in case the adjustment is fine)

Mine was doing the same thing last year! ( bravo ll ) here to find out i put penzoil 90 wt because west marine was out of mercruiser hp green oil and after a couple of months was doing what yours is doing. Took the outdrive apart and took the cone clutch asm up to the mast merc mechanic and said put it back together and put the mercruiser hp oil in it and your good to go! ( right ) well he was right and its been fine ever since! just my 2 cents

same situation last year......changed cone clutch and all fixed.....but the guys in my marina did mention that the merc oil has some sort of additive that does help shifting.......I use Royal Purple and they both shift fine.......
