Run one of their lowers(essentially an alpha) on my 3 liter outboard, 2 years no problems.

I have their Bravo Lower on my Velocity 260 w/496 mag. I have almost 2 seasons and over 200 hours. So far not a single issue. Plus they have a no questions asked 3 year warranty. I was even told by one of their sales people (before I bought) if I leave the drive down and drag it up my boat ramp, they will still repair or replace it.

If memory serves me, I paid right around $950 shipped to my door for a Brand New Bravo (SEI Version). I ordered directly from SEI.

The only negative I have heard is that the paint does not hold up.

Have sold about 20 Bravo lowers and had no complaints.
Great warranty if needed.

They're a local company to me, and I know a lot of follk who run their drives here. No problems. SEI is a very robust alternative to stock Merc stuff at a fraction of the cost.
