Default Bravo 3 Shifting issue

i've got a 2006 Bravo 3 that has started to hesitate when I shift into forward gear.
No problems with reverse.
It seams to be the worst when backing out of a slip and shifting into forward for the first time.
The drive has been flawless for 250hrs. The shift linkages on top of the engine seam to be operating properly.
Could this be a problem with the drive end of the lower shift cable?
If so, what could cause such an issue?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I would try to adjust the shift cable. it sounds like it could have streched.
