Bravo drives spin either way. They are not LH or RH specific.

Yes, you can just run it in reverse to go forward. All you have to do to make it permanent is switch the cables on the controls.

So is it "good practice" to switch the forward drive direction on a used/seasoned drive? Seems like the gear mesh has already been "set" so to speak, and reversing the forward drive direction could cause an wear issue?

Making a lot of assumptions here - so please elaborate.

I'm finding a lot of LH props that I'd like to try, but they are counter-rotation.

Thanks.

Spinning a left hand prop puts pressure on the top cap...not a problem if you have a good cap. Otherwise it is like using a new set of gears as the faces are fresh. You can stay with the same prop and flip the upper gears around to accomplish the same thing.

It will not cause any issues to run the drive the opposite direction.
Keep in mind, many single engine boats do not run/handle the same with a LH prop.

They will lean and pull to the side differently. Some boats like them and some don't.

I have noticed most single engine fountains have LH props. My 24 Cigarette also ran a LH rotation TRS. The boat handled really well with no lean at all. It flew very predictably also

I know this was implied by griffs posts, but we are talking about a Bravo drive, right? You don't want to run a TRS, etc. in reverse or you will smoke the trans. Just want to make sure we are all on the same page.

Yes. Anything with a Borg Warner transmission cannot be run at power in reverse. I think the sound alone would stop most folks.
