Default what drive to go with????

Insurance is going to be buying most of my drive, now the question which one should i go with????
right now i have an HP transom assembly and a bravo 1.
Motor in it is 450hp 454. the boats a baja 272.
in the future id like to see 650 hp in it, if i stumble across a good deal on more HP than maybe even more than 650 But doubtfull
I live on a small lake about 1.5-2 miles wide by 11 miles long so it never gets run real hard for real long.
Is the xr reliable i hear alot of complaints on these forums?
Thanks in advance for youre replies.

make yourself a xz drive, put a bravo x upper on a xr lower.
will handel the 454 fine, the 650 is going to give any stock bravo problems, xr or not. the x drive will out last the xr drive as long as you dont overpower the x drive.

x is only good for another 50 over a standard bravo, now with that being said there are plenty of bravo 1's on this site with way more power than that
