Default Bravo One Leak?

I have a Bravo One that is leaking somewhere, with no visible leaks inside or outside the boat on land...I come back from running it and the fill bottle is almost empty (like a half a quart).

I'm assuming it's only leaking with the outdrive down (in the water). What areas should I be looking at for the leak? Behind the prop?

How hard are you running it? Drive shower?? I know with the XR's they get hot and will push the lube out the propshaft seals. I would take a look there to see if there is any fish line or something to keep the seal from sealing. Best to pull it out and look at the surface to the shaft that the seals run on. There are two on the propshaft. One keeps water out and the inner one keeps oil in..

Hope that helps.

How long has it been doing that? If it just started then I would say you have a pinion seal leaking into the bellows and the oil has not made it past the gimbal bearing yet to start a puddle in the bilge.

Do you have access to a pressure checker? If you do drain the drive on the boat and pressure up the drive and soap every thing down on the out side with a spray bottle Some warm water and couple squirts of dishsoap and shake it up good . You will have to block off the line to your bottle or it will pressure back and leak our your bottle. I apply about 15 PSI and check the gauge there shouldnt be any bleed off. I know everybody does it different but I pressure my up for about 15 minutes and if its steady and no drop I ship it. If there is no leaks found on the outside of the drive I have agree with the other guy about the pinnion seal. Listen for hissing inside the Universal bellows if there is no visible leaks on the out side with the spray bottle soap test.

Been leaking since I got the boat (about a month ago). Haven't noticed any oil in the bilge, especially since it should be like a half a quart. I'm assuming it's running out cause even if the main seal in the bellows was leaking wouldn't it eventually fill up and leak somewhere?

Unless there is something that it sits in until I lower the outdrive down, then leaks out?

I had a leak from the shift shaft seal, no oil in the bilige. Found out when I pulled the drive.
