TRS Nose Cone, Yea or Nay
I am purchasing a boat that has trs drives. Nose cones were installed but now one is missing. Replace the missing one or remove the existing one. Will probably be a 70 MPH boat at my altitude. Thanks for the advice.

I'd go with replacing it. Provides much cleaner water for the prop from my understanding. Had one on a pantera raceboat I had previously. Have it for sale in the swap section if anyone's looking for another drive with a nosecone.

I just molded on a set of bravo high speed nose cones on a pair of my trs I'm sure they will help a little bit,
but they look really cool resembling a speedmaster, I also cut off the factory trs skeg and welded on some new longer sleek sharpered more modern looking skegs I doubt will see any mile per hour increase but they sure look baad hanging of the back of the boat. christian

Hydromotive makes them for the TRS. Rex has them. $104 and they come with the epoxy. I have one on the drive on my boat and one on my spare drive.

If you have external steering then add the 1 if it is the hydromotive type. If it is one of the other pointy ones then remove it. If you do not have external steering then remove the one that is left

Yes and the pointy ones can cause too much stern lift and prop blade cracking. on V bottoms that need positive trim. The Hydromotive ones can feed the prop more clean water and lift the bow more. Generally any nose cone adds area ahead of the designed steering pivot point will typically cause steering problems UNLESS you have external steering cylinders.
