Default About to have OD service on 2 bravo 1's and need experienced advice

I have 2 Bravo 1's and was quoted 455.oo each to break them down inspect and re-seal them - I did my homework a while back and i think it was 1500.oo each (or less possibly) to have them rebuilt.

I am thinking that spending 1000.oo each to have completely rebuilt drives would be better than pissing away 500.oo for inspections and seals

Anyone got any advice - or been there done that info for me please

My boats in Houston and i am looking to have this work done within the next 4 weeks - anyone recommend a reputable shop to get-r-done ?

thanks - jimi

Contact Bob Lloyd at Full Throttle Marine outside of Austin. He'll do you right.

If you have no problems or leaks, why would you pay to have the drives tore down?

You can't even buy the 2 gear sets for 1500.00. Not sure what you are calling a rebuild?

I don't doubt I have not done my homework - I am coasting on info i dug up months ago and now trying to get back on track and get the right info to get the work done.

I was almost sure i saw 1500.oo Bravo 1 rebuilt out-drives for sale / exchange

you say not to worry if I have no leaks ? - there was one guy ready to open - inspect - and replace seals at 455.oo each - is this a good idea ?

I thought I would put that 455.oo added to more money and just get them rebuilt

This boat is going overseas and will not be anywhere near a shop capable of doing this work again

Can you ballpark $ what I would expect for a total rebuild from a reputable shop ?

thanks for your advice
