mercury launched these right around the time of the six dry sump...
they are a combination of a six upper and an NXT lower... project was scrapped and the NXT is the result.... I'm only to assume parts will be an issue |

Don't have the answer to your question, but got a question.
Have you already purchased the drives? You should look for something else. Depending on your max rpm, you might not need a high ratio. I remember reading some info about prop speed being the key to good diesel performance. You could look for a set of ASD #8's. Stronger and lighter than a #6, and have shown to work great with not only gas, but also diesels. What kind of boat are they going on, and what is your budget for drives? Razor is right you want prop speed to go fast whit diesels but also want to get on plane that s why the use 2 speed transmissions Look for Habana Joe here hè can tell you all and even more to go fast whit diesels!! |
The gimbles are worth about 12,000. for a pair.

The gimbals cost about 12,000. for a pair. I personally don't think they are "worth" $12,000. No gold anywhere on them that I could find. |
