I am looking to replace my Bravo transom assembly. At what point is an HP transom assembly useful?
What makes the Bravo transom assembly different from the HP assembly?

Imco also makes a stronger Gimbal ring then the Merc HP, and X power makes one even stronger than Imco's! There are a few stories on here of boats breaking gimbal rings and spinning out. especially if they do not have Dual Hydraulic steering!

I have a 25 outlaw with bravo I drive. motor should be around 650 to 700hp. My transom assembly is starting to wear and leak water around the top pin. My plan is to replace it while the motor is out. I know there are guys out there that can machine the assembly but I rather just buy a new one.
I know I am getting to the top hp range of a bravo I but it is what it is. I have plans to upgrade the drive next year. There is about $1000 difference between the two merc assemblies and just looking for some input. Am I gaining anything by upgrading at this point?
I am going back together with a twin ram, full hydraulic steering also.
