im going to from a 1:50 to a 1:35 imco sc standard legnth drive on 38ft scarab kv. please give any input on the pro's and cons of making this change. im more interested in a good cruise speed (thats not why i did the deal) so what props to start with? its a done deal so no talking out of.....i have to make it work. thanks in adavance!!

the main reason to go from 1,50 to 1,35 is if you are allready at a 36 pitch prop.in my opinion ,with a pair of 800 hp motors,1.35 gears is a good idea.

what props are u running with the 1.50 gears?

i did this to my24 baja with 718hp midrange big improvement 600rpm less then 150 gears3000 rpm i am doing45mph at 5600rpm doing 81.9 so far still tweaking

34 bravo's at 5500 rpms.....the boat has boxes so my slip is a little high at 21% or is this normal with boxes and should i try 5 blades? still learning the boat but the boat feels good and everything feels right so over trimming is not a concern...

5 blades should reduce your slip.

Where are propshafts in relation to the bottom?

Am I correct in assuming the boat is running around 90mph currently?

never measured but it looks like about 2 inches below the bottom of the boat...90mph is corrrect light and right

5 blades will tighten things up a bit but that kind hp and a 5 blade may kill the drive,,would rather have some slip
