Default Trs trans

I have a trs drive with merc trans just pulled motor and the bell housing was a little wet with fluid here is a pic,is this easy to change the shaft seal my self any input would be great

Very easy. Just remove the small cover. The hard part will be finding a seal. Most likely you won't be able to get one from merc. You can get one from some place that sells bearings and seals though. Also there's an o-ring on the cover you will want to replace. # 21 in the diagram.

Wow that sounds great if that is your number on the link you sent i will call you tomorrow.Probley make it 2 sets the other motor will be out soon and i will do that also.

Not my number. That's a guy, Kirk Casey in Bellingham Wa. that has a boat repair shop. He collects, rebuilds and sells these old Merc Trans transmissions. Parts are pretty much unavailiable from mercury as these were last made around 1980.

ok i have called kc marine 2 times and i may be giving him the wrong info on what i need or the seal i order is wrong from the marine parts shop.Any other help on a exact part number and by make .for a merc trans

Merc is calling it the pump cover seal, however I would tell KC you need the " Input shaft seal". They'll know what you mean.
Another way is remove the seal and measure the outside diameter and mic the shaft and take the seal and measurements to a place that specializes in selling bearings and seals.
