Default Trs to bravo or surface??

Couple questions here, first of all how come they don't make a shorty for the trs's since they hang so low?

Second if I wanted to get rid of the trs's in the future what would be the differences if I went with surface drives
vs bravos. I'm gonna go ahead and assume surfaces would cost more but what kind of gains would there be over bravos and would there be anymore work in the engine compartment?

with a arneson you can count on 7-10 mph faster,,the plus side you wont be fixxing the arneson vs the bravo it you are putting any link of power through them.

Surface drives like the Arneson are my personal favorite.

But Konrad offers some great upgraded drives to replace the TRS. Its what they specialize in...plus they are having a sale right now!

You have to try to guess the future and figure out how long your keeping your boat. The props do cost more for surface drives but the speed gain is awesome!

Over the normal TRS conversion we are seeing 15-20 mph increase on twin engine 38' V hulls.

Thanks, the standard length Konrad TRS replacement is 1.7" shorter from input shaft to prop shaft compared to the TRS. Most installations typically gain 3-5 mph from this increase in prop shaft height.

We also offer a shorty lower -1.75" -Although I've never seen a TRS conversion benefit from this extreme height, we have the option of raising the prop shaft over 3" if needed.

As mentioned, Konrad is presently holding an inventory reduction sale. Huge discounts on TR/TRS conversions right now. Supplies are limited.

Can't comment on the Konrad, Kurt can fill in on this. But on the ASD#7M, all must go, but pretty much everything from the helm down eccept for the prop is included in the ASD#7M package. If anything else is needed when doing a TRS to ASD conversion vs. the Bravo to ASD conversion, Rik knows of course. If you consider doing up the transom first, the ASD#6 drop box and #8-6 are of course choices as well.

Nice project, good luck with it.

on the trs replacement the whole drive assembly gets replaced with the 1/2 conversion or the bellhousing and transom plate also get get exchanged with the full conversion . you will love the upgrade, along with the great look its easy to sell the trs units for extra cash
