To raise the X basically you would have to cut the hole higher and raise the motor mounts. Wheather or not you can do it depends on the boat your wanting to do this to. Is there clearance inside to raise the transom plate and if your exhaust goes through the transom can they be raised higher?

what kind of boat? if you are redoing the transom, it is a good time to think about cutting smaller holes and putting bravos in it.

Simplest change over from the TRS is Konrads. Your gonna screw up the whole balance of the boat. Even switching over to Bravos you'll have to relocate the engines towards the rear when you eliminate the transmissions. Beside I don't think a Bravo is a strong as a TRS but the Konrads are made to swap out them IMO.

If you were to swap to a Konrad drive, the standard length Konrad is 1.7" shorter than the TRS. Konrad also offers a shorty lower (-1.75") that could bring your propshaft height up about 3.5" with just a bolt-on.

We typically see a 3-5 mph increase in speed with the standard length swap.

That sounds way high for a TRS application. Did you measure to the center of the prop shaft (or bullet of the case) as in the pic below?
