Default Cobra outdrives

on my 22 donzi my cobra outdrive is busted....hitsomething....if i find a used one...are they all the same....such a one off a 4 or 6 cylinder? i have a 383 stoker.....thanks in advance!!

also i am told there is a conversion kit to put on an alpha 2 i have an alpha 2 not pretty it had bottom paint on it but in perfect mechanical condition oil was clean and green when i drained it asking $300 plus the ride

It is gonna cost you big time if you can find one with the gears for a v8. I dont think the 4or6cly will work. Check out sei for a adapter omc to alpha for 350.00 Get a alpha and you are back in the game for under a grand. The longer you wait to convert the more those OMC legs are gonna cost you. It is also a good selling point. Not a lotta people want a OMC outdrive on their boat.

+1 That stroker will blow the gears right out of the side of the case of a cobra drive . I ended up bolting a King Cobra lower on , strong but it is longer than the Cobra and has the leading edge of a 2x4 . I had to reglass the transom , raise the X by 1 3/4 and add a nosecone . In short , if it aint black take it back !!! You will be much better off . deep.....

The only difference in the Cobra drives for the 4-6-8 is the gear ratios used
