yes they are TRS's. tough, heavy, considered by some obsolete. by others preferrable to most stock drives made since. gears are still avail. cases getting scarce. they are all that fit your boat without major transom work and moving engines back. or major money for Konrads. so you really have not much choice. converting will cost more than you probably got the boat for.

What dk said, good strong drive. Yes they are getting really hard to find parts for but only if their broken. If I remember they use a 19 spline prop? What transmissions are they behind? If their any kind of BW then they should hold up good for you up to 600hp or more depending how hard you drive them. Some had the older MeercII trans which where weak and next to impossible to find replacements. Use em till they break. Konrads are the easiest replacements but not cheap.

Truely thank y'all for the help and input!! Not sure what transmissions they are behind, but the motors are 330's and being that this is my first boat I was just putting it back together to be a local lake cruiser no blazing speeds will be needed, just something to take out with my little boy. They both turn by hand and sound real smooth, the engines and trannies will be gone thru this weekend so I'll keep you posted on the findings and outcome.

Thanks again
Matt

go on ebay or just google merctrans and velvet drive. you will get many pics. trannys are very easy to tell apart. what, motors are out of boat?
