there is a big nut on end of steering cable. even with it tight, my cable has at least 1/8th inch of play into back side of the nut. i am thinking of fabbing a big e-ring to slip in there and clamp around cable. one place to look while somebody is working the wheel...87 Nova, so essentially the same age steering.
