If a drive shower really made that much difference on internal temperature I think Mercury would build in some type of water cooling jackets to the upper. I've never run a shower. They scrub speed. I have four trouble free seasons (over 200 hours) running hard on the Great Lakes with my 525/XR.
edit: And I DON'T baby it! |

The XR vertical shaft does not normally snap, unless something locked up in the lower. Let us know what you find when you get into it.

You would be my hero if you wrote a thread on here with pictures of what you do to maintain your drives :)
I agree on the 5 blade, especially if it is a solid hub vs. the slip hub that comes with a bravo prop. Don't know how much that 29 ft boat comes in at for LBS, but that does seem like a lot of boat for one bravo tied to a blue engine, with a 5 blader. |

Then I could put a S/C on it and not have to worry about blowing the drive. I got some of those 3m buffing products and going to shine up the boat. Figure out what I want to do for a drive. So many people have problems with these drives even the (better) ones. I think the boat is getting put away for the season. Hope you two have a great time! and I look forward to next year! |
