Make sure the spring washer, and washers are stacked correctly. I also had an issue with that. Picklenjim was a great resource for me.

Those people that told you that have probably never worked on a TRS either. Alignement on a TRS has nothing to do with how hard it will be to get the drive on beings your plugging directly into the transmission. Alpha and Bravo MUST be perfectly aligned or you WILL have a problem getting the drive on.
Not clear on what your asking. Sounds like you already have the drive on. Are you saying there is a gap at the top between the drive and housing now? Hope not.

no,drive not on that side, port.starboard ok.what i ment was when we droped the motor/trans in,i stuck the alliment tool in jus to see what it looked like.the plate at the top has a gap about 1/8 inch.bottom is flush.the starboard side was like that also, but not as much gap at top.only about ,060 if that.i havent tried to put the drive back on the port side, the one in question.if i lift up on the front of the motor,i can close the gap somewhat.should i do this or just let it be.this is a diffrent block, but same kind.what do you think.thanks for all your help.brad

If you are using the same mounts and setting it all up the same way as the previous engine was then I would just go with it. If you can lift the front some to help then go for it. I don't know if it will stay there though if your talking about just raising it with in the hole on the OS mounts.
