Default Alpha gen 2 to bravo 1 conversion

I have an alpha 1 gen 2 that am not happy with it I know it's a time bomb with a 454. What do I need to buy to swap to a bravo 1 drive?

Thanks

the inner and outer transome plate/gimble assembly along with the trim cyl's and the drive itself....though i have heard the trim cylinders will work from one to the other but not sure on that one. you can re-use the hyd pump...oh and a new coupler while its all apart....thats about it.

It's even easier with the gen 2, just swap the helmet so that Bravo will fit. Everything will will work. You will how ever have a gap between the pin for the ram's.

Two options run it with the gap, or put in an aluminum filler. I've seen both done.

You might want to add one of those thing-a-ma-jiggies that sucks up water to cool the engine.

Yes you need a new water pick up belt driven and another 3k minimum, what kind of boat do you have and it`s weight. I have a 454/alpha in my Formula 242LS and it`s fine you just take it easy.

It's a Jaws 24 I just been told that the alpha won't hold much with the 454

check mercury,I am pretty sure that they still make a set of hardened upper gears for the alpha's and they do work, they are supplied by mercury specifically for that set up with a 454.

The cheapest option would be to buy a complete boat with bravo running gear off craigslist or the like..... Do a complete swap alpha to bravo & bravo to alpha....then re sell the boat.

More work, less $
All the parts will be exactly where ya need em.

Will have to plug a couple holes on the donor boat when going bravo to alpha.

I guess I would have to check with mercury, is there any speed difference from just swapping the drives from alpha to bravo?
