Default Bravo 3

Yes I know the B3 drive is not as worthy, nor efficient for high speed as a single prop, but its what my boat has. IM pulling my 454 in the coming weeks and seeking more power, so im considering a change of sorts.

My questions are these ?

1. Can you swap a B1 lower onto a B3 upper ? and if so, what is necessary (besides the obvious....a B1 lower) ?

2. Will the XR guts work in a B3 unit ?

I read somewhere that optimum you want to run a 2.0:1 drive (which I have).

Any thoughts here ????

Yes, the lowers are interchangeable. I personally would not give up the extra MPH or two of going to a Bravo I over a Bravo III in a large, single engine boat.

Ive been told that I should replace the cap with a billet model. How important is that going to be on my big heavy boat with 500hp ?

Which components from the XR series goes in my B3 upper ?
