Are you trimming too high?
There's normal trim and trailer position.
Too high would cause U Joint vibes and an ugly failure.

it is possible the trim pump is going away, either the motor or the valving in it. when you are accelerating hard and trimming up it requires the most pressure to move the drive and so it is loading the pump more than any other time.

You could have a bad U joint and it is vibrating when You trim up.
Try in gear with the drive all the way down - turn the drive all the way one way. Is it vibrating the drive or making any strange noise?

What does it mean to short? Does the motor shakes or the prop grabs funny? See if you lower the trim the problem goes away. Check to see if the trailing edge of the prop is cupped. NON CUPPED PROPS SLIP AND RE GRAB. Even cupped props chatter or slip if over trimmed.
good luck Buddy
