upgrate alpha 1 to bravo xr. transom.

Anybody done this change, are the two transom cut outs very different or maybe the same size, any hits guys ?
The existing set up is worn out, and Ive been given a great deal on the bravo set up which is the reason. Power is
bluewater magnum small block. I know ill need a water pump its the transom thats the concern. Thanks.

Cutout is the same. May need to drill 2 holes if its gen 1 alpha. Other than that very easy to bolt in place. Will also need a bravo coupler I believe. But transom is easiest part of swap.

thanks ICU thats good news.

Does that also mean that the bravo input shaft/ motor line up will be the same as the old alpha?

Remember though that a straight Alpha to Bravo swap will gain you reliability, but lose you speed due to the higher drag of the Bravo gear case.

Too Stroked , Is that drag due to the shape of the gear case in the water, or greater friction inside the gears / case itself?

It's due to a larger drive in general and bigger internals requiring more power to turn I think. Whenever you pull the motor you always re align with alignment tool even if you don't swap. So albeit minimal adjustments, you will still need to verify alignment.

Greater hydrodynamic drag.

This is how it gets done.

Pretty simple actually. Take your time and make sure you drill the two upper holes at the proper angle so the studs/bolts go thru the transom as they should.
