I'm going to put a good used lower on to get me on the water this spring but am going to get the tools and replace the bent shaft. I'm going to use my own outdrive to learn the proper way to rebuild them...There is not much to them. I like how some people make it sound like only a few gifted individuals will ever posess the skills to properly set up an outdrive. I like to use this technique as well...keeps people bringing their repairs back to ME! Thanks for all the advice...

the price point on the sei stuff makes alphas damn near a disposable commodity., there warrnety rocks from wha i have heard too. 3 years nofault, if you hit something, tear it up its covered.
