Default Shift cable lube??

Are the Alpha1 shift cables supposed to be lubed, or do they work better without lube?

no lube. lube just seems to hasten their demise actually.

Smile shift cable

I used to disconnect mine in the off season @ the
shift bracket. Hang it from the rafters and drip 10w40
oil throughout the season. It did make a difference
for me. I'm in salt water. My 2......

Thx guys. I replaced the cable a few years back, but boat hasn't been used much since then. I works fine but since I have it out (bellows replacement), I figured I would ask. Boat hasn't seen any salt since cable swap.
