Default Mc1 and alpha lower interchangeable?

Wondering if I can use a gen one alpha lower in place of my mc-1 lower.

Is it true that an alpha lower is stronger than a mc1 lower and, if so, what is better?

The mc1 is an 888 from 1975.

Thanks guys.

What is the difference mechanically between the lowers? Do all gen one alphas fit all mc-one uppers?

Thanks, rob
