I am looking for an outdrive antifouling paint that works. My boat sits in the water at Key Largo for 3 months every winter and the outdrive is a mess!I have it sanded and ready for paint and can only find 2 manufacturers Trilux and Petit. All the reviews on Trilux 33 show negative results(lots of critters attached after a short period.I cannot find any reviews on Pettit's Alumaspray.HELP!

so it isn't being stored unused in the water for 3 months? that is different. and i think if you coat them with STP you will get pretty rainbows behind boat for 10 minutes and then the STP will be gone.

Go with Petit Vivid.
Black for Mercs , mix your own grey for Volvos .
Besides the very effective ingredient zinc omadine it's base if copper thiocyanate , also nicknamed 'white copper'.
Nowhere near as damaging to lower units as red copper .
Just make sure your unit is properly prepped and has no water porous scratches to bare metal before you apply.
I've been very impressed at how well it works and no electrolysis issues . Still , I hate having to paint lower units .
