Default omc out drive

Guy's, I took out and outdrive (cobra) on our 32 Fourwinns express Friday, of course we were heading down to Fells Point in Baltimore for the festival. Made it about 25 min out from Great Oak and BAM! I need one for a 5.7 standard rotation. If anyone knows of a good deal in the upper chesapeake bay (chesapeake city) please let me know.
We took the Scarab down Sat and it ran like a CHAMP!

I ran a King lower with the Cobra upper . I forget what year King will mate up . I had a 1988 model . Built a 383 stroker and became a Cobra killer . I have never heard of a King being broken . Only problem was the King lower is longer than the Cobra and with the horsepower the boat wanted to ride on the cav plate . No steering at wfo . Raised the x 1 7/8" and it handled beautifully after that . I bought mine from I think Bayside Marine in Ca. brand new cheaper than I could buy a plain Cobra around here . I hope this helps you , let me know what you find out . I'll dig around , I may still have the sales slips .

If that is just a Cobra beware of the dog gears , that is the weak link . My stroker also put the forward gear in the lower unit out the side of the case .

A real King Cobra is now pretty rare and shifts in the upper...A Cobra shifts in the lower........Curious as to how you did what you said....Kings do break and you will have a lot of trouble getting parts. Some of the later King Cobras behind 460 fords were actually just cobras with "king" in their name

I posted the part # . Do a little research . You should rethink your statement about King Cobras and 460 Fords . A standard Cobra would have died as soon a you throttled up . Here , this will answer all your questions as to me doing what I said I did and also parts availability along with durability !! http://www.allamericandriveservice.com/OMCCobra.html
