would replacing a bravo 1 with an xr drive result in less speed on a stock 502/420? is there any point?
what is a working but non rebuilt xr drive and a fully rebuilt and repainted transom housing be worth?

thanks

Why are you wanting to replace? What's broke!??

The XR is stronger, but it is more likely to need gears every 200hrs or so. I wouldn't go to an XR unless I was breaking regular Bravo's.
A regular Bravo 1 will live a long life behind 420hp and costs about half as much.
