How did the string repair go?

I haven't seen the final results, but did see the transom completed. I was happy with the work, next step is going to get my donor boat for new engine/drive. Hopefully I'm on the water in early May!

An update here, went with the 7.4 B3. Had the boat out for the first time last weekend, impressive hole shot with a very easy transition to plane. Cruise @ 2100 rpm 25mph, wot 50mph

You should be a hair over 50, for comparison, with 2 tired 188;s (1200 hours) and chewey alum props I was at 48, you have less weight and drag with the single at the same hp.

I haven't had it full throttle for more than a few seconds, so will likely see a few more. Motor sounds great, no issues but does have a ticking sound north of 2500 rpm. I have my mechanic looking at the valve train.

the B3 is superior to the B1 in all ways except top speed and prop choice-cost.
