Any trs with 400's or 420's had 72c's the whole engine and trans needs to move back 3".

NOT looking to pay retail, dont need brand new painted, cause ill do all that anyways... just dont want beat drives.

thanks
You said you are flipping the boat why would you want to upgrade drives?

If you manage to pull that off I will be really impressed.
All the#3 drive sets noted so far seem to be way better than average bargains but if you are able to find good dives complete for that more power to you.

buyer for it wants to go faster than what it will go now and TRS will hold the speed back a bit.

If drives are the only thing you plan on changing id be willing to bet you go slower. Bigger shafts, more weight, more oil more drag inside and out. I went from trs to #5s, bigger cams and it was a wash but horsepower was in the future so unless that's in the works itd be a waste of time and money in my opinion. I did the cones when i got the boat and they did nothing for speed or handling. What's it got for power?

If anything I would do 4's or 5's. The three's hold power but they are extremely long and the hull on the café is not that tall and To raise the drive height right the transom Assemblies would be at the top of the hull witch would leave you no engine clearance in the bilge..Also you would need to have the tail pipes refabricated to the existing holes... You can see in the picture how high I mounted mine and they were still 3 inches below the bottom.

Factory install on a cafe is to have the prop shaft 5-6" below the bottom. X dimension 19.3"

I got ya but that's old shool technology. Now with the props you can get today they run way better when there higher.. like flush with the bottom even with a three.
